Ireland checks closely when you enter with a dog, cat or ferret, and for dogs the time of the tapeworm treatment in the pet passport counts. This package counts your timeline back from the day you enter and checks the passport before you set off.
The rules in detail are under moving to Ireland with a pet.
What the price includes
For €700 you get the timeline, the check of the passport and the entry route for your pet.
Included in the fee of €700
- Your timeline: counted back from the day you enter: microchip, rabies vaccination with its waiting period and, for dogs, the tapeworm treatment within the required time window, as a PDF with days and times for the vet
- The pet passport checked: by video or scan: chip number, vaccination, tapeworm entry with date and time, the vet’s stamp and signature
- Your entry route: which ports, ferries and airlines Ireland allows for animals, the notification before arrival where it is required, and the check on entry
- Marc as your Ireland guide: he moved to Ireland with his wife and five children, and he lives there
The timeline
First comes the microchip, then the rabies vaccination with its waiting period, and for dogs, shortly before entry, the tapeworm treatment within a fixed window. You get a plan as a PDF, with days and times, to hand to your vet.
The finished pet passport is then checked by video or scan: chip number, vaccination, the entry with date and time, stamp and signature.
The entry route
If you travel to Ireland directly from the Continent, you enter without notifying in advance; if you come from or through Great Britain, you enter only through certain ports and airports and give notice of your pet beforehand. You get the route that fits your journey.
The package costs €700 and is booked the moment you order.
