Who answers which question?

Sebastian’s questions are non-dom status and the remittance basis, the tax questions of leaving the UK or another European country, company structures and the road to Irish citizenship. These are the questions where getting the order wrong costs money.

Marc’s questions are the move to Ireland and setting up a business on the ground: which area you want to live in. Renting or buying. Which school, and whether home education is the better path for your child. How the health system works and what you need for it. Which authority is responsible for what, and in which order you tackle things. And how setting up a company on the ground actually works.

Many families end up having both conversations. If you are not sure where to start, start with whatever keeps you awake at night.

How booking and the consultation work

1 · Booking. For both, you pick a slot straight from the calendar and pay the fee conveniently by card; the appointment is confirmed at once.

2 · Format. Appointments take place during normal office hours, European time. The conversation lasts up to one hour and is held by phone, Zoom, WhatsApp, Google Meet, Signal or Telegram. A slot is usually available within 7 to 10 days.

3 · Preparation. The clearer you are about what you want, the more you take away. Note down your questions and the figures involved beforehand, and talk to your partner first so that their view is part of the conversation.

4 · Your situation. Once the appointment is set, a short summary of your situation by email, as a reply to the confirmation, helps. The conversation is there to establish where you stand; the detailed analysis and planning are commissioned separately afterwards.

Booking carries no risk for you: you can end the conversation within the first 15 minutes and get the full fee back. After 15 minutes it becomes due as agreed.
